A New Climate took place during the World Climate Industry Expo (WCE) at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Centre (BEXCO) on May 25, hosted by The New York Times.

In the two-day event, The New York Times invited eminent leaders from both home and abroad with the theme of 'What is the role of technology in addressing the climate crisis?'

In the first day, Han Duck-soo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea had a talk with Motoko Rich Tokyo bureau chief for The New York Times and said, "Korea will expand the shares of solar and offshore wind power in our energy portfolio to make a significant contribution to carbon neutrality." and "The existing nuclear power plants, that are less emitting and safe as a reliable energy source, will be continuously in operation."

He added, "Existing coal-fired power plants will be phased out, and we are not going to build new plants." and "While opening up to all potential options of energy source, including ammonia, hydrogen energy, combined heat and hydrogen (CHH) systems, Korea will eagerly join the efforts to develop eco-friendly energy technologies with the global society."

A New Climate will offer various presentations and discussing sessions on topics that cover sustainable mobility, sea level rise, coastal erosion, the future of green energy, and future fuel (decarbonization in shipping industry).

On May 26, there will be a talk with Lee Hoesung, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and presentations on ocean conservation, climate migration, and the future of green mobility, etc.
