According to Yonhap News,

About 80 delegates from major cement producers in seven Asian countries gathered in Busan to discuss countermeasures on carbon neutrality, the industry's urgent issue, and future directions for the industry's advancement.

On October 29, the Korea Cement Association announcedthat it held the 69th ACPAC (Asia Cement Producer's Amity Club) at the Signiel Hotel in Busan on October 27.

ACPAC, which began in July 1973 as the "1st Korea-Taiwan Cement Producers Amity Club" has grown into a leading consultative body for the Asian cement industry, participated by cement producers in seven Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Every year, seven countries hold ACPAC alternately. It was scheduled to be held in Korea in 2020, but delayed three years due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Participants were gathered in Busan to strengthen friendship, while sharing trends of the construction industry in each member country, domestic demand for cement, and import and export statistics, and discussing plans for carbon neutral response and future development directions.

The association added that it decided to hold the event in Busan in order to contribute to the successful bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
