According to Yonhap News,

Busan City, which aims to attract KRW 6 trillion in investment this year, has succeeded in attracting large-scale investment from a domestic company.

On February 26, the Busan Metropolitan Government announced that it will sign an MOU with DN Solutions (formerly known as Doosan Machine Tool), a manufacturer specializing in machine tools, to establish a "Global Unit Advanced Manufacturing Center."

DN Solutions, a key affiliate of DN Group, and the No. 1 manufacturer of machine tools in Korea and the third largest in the world, possesses R&D capabilities and large-scale manufacturing facilities.

The company has changed its name from Doosan Machine Tools to DN Solutions in 2022 and has been driving its leap into a global manufacturing innovation company through business diversification.

With the signing of the MOU, DN Solutions will build a "Global Unit Advanced Manufacturing Center" in Busan, which is expected to be a cutting-edge production base specializing in manufacturing high-precision core parts of machine tools by 2025.

DN Solutions plans to spend KRW 107.6 billion to construct a building on a 33,000㎥ (10,000 pyeong) site in the International Industrial Logistics City, Gangseo-gu, and hire more than 300 new professionals in various fields such as R&D, production, and management support.

DN Solutions explained, "We decided to make this investment in consideration of the abundant professional manpower produced by 22 universities in Busan, including Busan National University, Pukyong National University, and Korea Maritime University, and the excellent location as an international industrial logistics city."

Previously, Busan-si also signed an MOU worth KRW 3.6 trillion on investment to foster the eco-friendly data center industry with 4 tenant companies in the Green Data Center Cluster in Eco-Delta City, in Gangseo-gu on February 6.

The data center is an essential infrastructure for 4th industrial information technology (IT) services including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and self-driving.
