According to Pulse by Maeil Business News Korea,

New hotels are opening in Haeundae, Busan, enhancing competition among major brands to attract more guests.

According to Lotte Hotels & Resorts on Wednesday, the L7 Haeundae is scheduled to open in June. L7 is a 4-star brand launched by Lotte Hotel in 2016. This brand operates three hotels in Korea and emphasizes reflecting the uniqueness of the local area as its identity.

The 383 rooms at L7 Haeundae feature a rooftop pool available year-round. Floating, its breakfast buffet restaurant, will offer a variety of menus including Busan’s representative local foods. Guests can also enjoy an exotic and romantic atmosphere at the poolside lounge with breathtaking views.

Sono International under Daemyung Sono Hospitality Group is also gearing up for the opening of Sono Moon Haeundae in July.

Sono Moon Haeundae is located just a 350-step walk from L7 Haeundae and occupies the space where the former ibis Ambassador Haeundae was operated.

Shilla Stay has been operating in a location midway between L7 Haeundae and Sono Moon since 2017.

With concerns about oversupply, it is noteworthy that major hotel chains are consecutively staking their claim in the same area.

Haeundae Street, where these hotels are located, is adjacent to famous tourist attractions and highly preferred by tourists.

Haeundae Beach is just a minute’s walk away. Access to places like Dalmaji Hill and Dongbaek Island with dense camellia trees is also convenient. It is also close to BEXCO, Korea’s largest exhibition and convention center.

While a 4-star showdown is underway on Haeundae Street, a battle for 5-star openings is taking place near Dongam Port in Gijang-gun, just north of Haeundae.

Banyan Tree Haeundae Busan plans to open its doors in April next year. Operated on a membership basis, this hotel offers panoramic views from all 195 rooms.

Just a 4-minute drive away, Ananti at Busan Village opened in July last year. Designed with yachts as a motif, the hotel boasts a total of 114 rooms.

With 13 food and beverage outlets including cafes, restaurants, and buffets, as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, there is a variety of enjoyment options within the hotel itself.

Nearby attractions such as Lotte World Adventure Busan and Lotte Outlet make it an ideal destination for families.

Despite concerns about saturation, Haeundae already hosts many luxury hotels such as Paradise, Grand Josun, Westin Josun, Park Hyatt, and Signiel.

The hotel industry, however, continues to target Haeundae, with the belief that there is still a shortage of accommodation and sufficient demand..
