Busan-si ranked 14th in the world and 3rd in Asia in the evaluation of the global smart cities.

On June 3, Busan-si announced that Busan ranked 14th out of 79 major cities in the world in the 9th Smart Centres Index released by the global consulting agency Z/Yen.

Busan first enter the list as 62nd three years ago, and has conitued to rise in the ranking, entering in the top 20 for three consecutive years recently.

Seoul remained in 29th place, the same as the previous ranking, making Busan top of the list in Korea.

Busan performed well in five out of six evaluation items of the "competitiveness evaluation category."

It ranked 12th, 6th, and 7th in the business environment, infrastructure construction, and reputation, respectively.

It also ranked high for the first time in human capital and financial support sectors, ranking 13th and 9th, respectively.
