The Asian start-up expo "FLY Asia 2024" opened at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan on October 1, starting a two-day schedule.

The event features various programs that connect investors and start-ups based on major Asian start-up cities and networks.

This year, under the theme of "Inspired by Being Together," investment consultation, academic conference, and competitions will be held to realize the Busan's vision to become an Asian start-up platform city and help start-up companies to enter the global market.

In connection with the Busan-type convergence festival "Festival Shiwol," FLY ASIA brings together a large number of experts in the investment and start-up fields, including domestic large corporations, mid-sized companies, global companies, investors, promising start-ups, and start-up support organizations.

Busan's mayor gave a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, presenting the Busan's Vision for "Startup-Friendly City" that includes startup fundraising, creation of support systems, and global market entry, among others.

It was followed by the keynote speech "the Role of startups in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals" by Fatou Haidara, Deputy to the director General and Managing Director of the Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

About 400 domestic and foreign investors including global investors such as CDIB Capital Group, VinaCapital and Smilegate Investment crowded the IR sessions by startups.
