According to Newsis,
[Busan=Newsis] Reporter Lee Ah-reum = Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on the 29th that it held an opening ceremony for its Singapore office at the Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay in Singapore, embarking on strengthening its global network in Southeast Asia and expanding its overseas business operations.
Singapore stands as a world-class transshipment hub and a key maritime, port, and logistics center where the Asian regional headquarters of major global shipping lines and logistics companies are densely concentrated.
Using Singapore as a strategic base, BPA plans to build an ongoing network with key institutions—such as the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)—as well as global ocean carriers and logistics firms, focusing on identifying new overseas ventures and marketing Busan Port.
In particular, the new office will support BPA's ongoing overseas projects in Indonesia and Vietnam, discover new port and logistics business opportunities across the ASEAN region, and expand opportunities to generate new cargo volume for Busan Port targeting global shippers and ocean carriers.
Song Sang-keun, President of BPA, stated, "The opening of the Singapore office represents a new starting point to connect Busan Port, Singapore, and the port and logistics industries across Southeast Asia even more closely. We will further advance our relationships with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), PSA, global carriers, and port and logistics enterprises."
The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 key figures and representatives from domestic and foreign shipping lines, ports, and logistics firms, including BPA President Song Sang-keun, Chargé d'Affaires Kim Jun-min of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore, and Tan Hoe Soon, Assistant Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
