(CHUNGJU=NEWSIS News) The number of passengers arriving or departing from Cheongju International Airport located in North Chungcheong Province set to surpass 2 million, following Incheon, Jeju, Gimpo, and Gimhae International Airports.
The Korea Airports Corporation Cheongju Branch announced that the accumulated passenger number at Cheongju Airport is projected to exceed 2 million mark as more than 50,000 people traveled through the airport during the Chuseok holiday.
The record has been reached three months earlier than last year.
The annual passenger number of Cheongju Airport is well on track to exceed this year's target of 2.5 million.
Established in 1997, the airport currently operates one domestic scheduled flight and eight regular international flights. New irregular flights to two cities in China will be operated from this month.
