Sports Events, Facility Investments Continue in Chungju

(CHUNGJU=Yonhap News) The city of Chungju in North Chungcheong Province is successfully attracting a series of large-scale sports events to the city as well as investments in sports facilities, securing its image as Korea's premier sports city.

According to the city on May 12, 92 percent of construction has been completed for Chungju Sports Town, which to serve as the main venue for this year's National Para Games and National Sports Festival.

A total of KRW 120.3 billion is being injected into the project, creating a main stadium with 14,946 seats and all other facilities.

Scheduled to take place in September to October, the National Para Games and National Sports Festival will induce production worth KRW 237.7 billion, added value worth KRW 106.9 billion, and create 4,534 jobs.
