(DANYANG=Newsis News) The 2017 Danyang Garlic Festival is set to kick off this Friday on July 28 at the Ecological Sports Park in the county of Danyang, North Chungcheong Province.

According to the county on July 26, this year's festival will be held for three days, featuring a wide variaty of programs, some twenty in total.

Hosted by the Danyang Garlic Festival Committee and organized by the Danyang County Agricultural Policy Support Team , the festival will begin with a 'symposium on how to promote premium garlic'at 2 p.m. on July 28 at the local Continuing Education Center, followed by various performances, and the opening ceremony, scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on opening day.

On Saturday, cooking shows by famous chefs as well as street performances, spontaneous singing contests, and stages by local singers are set to take place, while a magic show is prepared for the closing ceremony on Sunday.

According to a county source, "the festival will help Danyang further specialize its garlic industry in connection with outstanding local tourism resources."
