(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) The Project to build Osong Biopolis in the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone (CBFEZ) is being implemented without a hitch.
According to the Chungbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, the Biopolis district will be built on a plot of 3.28 million ㎡ in Jeongjung-ri, Osong-eup, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, and the project is 96 percent complete, expecting to have the full project done by December.
The project is implemented by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and the Chungbuk Development Corporation with the budget of KRW 932.3 billion.
Construction of infrastructure for Biopolis is also accelerating the process.
The establishment of the road connecting national highway and the complex is 42 percent complete.
Water supply facilities and water treatment facilities are 75 percent and 78 percent done respectively.
An official from the Authority said, "All of the constructions are going well as planned, and 83.9 percent of the complex is sold, so we are expecting the complex will be active in the earlier stage."
