Chungbuk-do to add 500ha more provincial forests to preserve ecosystem by 2022

(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Chungbuk-do announced on February 11 that it will create 500ha more provincial forests by putting up KRW 12 billion until 2022.

Starting this year, the province plans to spend KRW 3 billion per year during this period to acquire private forests where forest recreation facilities can be built or plant trees of economic benefits.

The province is set to spend KRW 3 billion to create 230ha provincial forests in Cheongju, Goesan, and Chungju. .

Currently, Chungbuk-do has 23,079 ha provincial forests.
