Chungbuk Society Innovation Platform launched to resolve regional issues through public-private cooperation

According to Yonhap News,

(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) "Chungbuk Society Innovation Platform", a cooperative body in which government, local governments, and public institutions look for solutions to local problems raised by local residents.

The platform was participated by 34 institutions and organizations including Chungbuk province, Cheongju-si, Jincheon-gun, Eumseong-gun, provincial councils, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, KORAIL, Korean Educational Development Institute, Korea Consumer Agency, and civic societies in Chungbuk, among others.

The promotion committee of Chungbuk Society Innovation Platform was constructed at the launching ceremony held at Cheongju S-Convention,

The province selected 15 implementation agenda items in May-July, right after winning "Region Innovation Forum" project run by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Included are: reducing disposables in funerals; establishing child-care centers; utilization of empty houses into public house for the youth; establishing comprehensive support system for unwed mothers.

Participants had discussion on how to implement 15 agenda items after adopting "convention of realizing Chungbuk social values".

Chungbuk governor Lee said, "We will discover various tasks of local community through creative thinking by citizens and endeavor to resolve such tasks successfully."
