North Chungcheong Province announced on Mar. 11 that the local authorities’ scheme was publicly approved as part of national growth plans to improve community software service, named, “SW convergence cluster 2.0”, led by the ICT ministry.
Putting the city of Cheongju and Jincheon a center of the project, the provincial government aims to help semiconductor producers and software developers add extra features to their products and services to be worth more, while discovering new growth drivers to improve local job creation.
By 2024, they will lay out a mid- long term business development model to form software industrial base, help software developers turn their ideas into commercially valid solutions worldwide, and train HR to nurture software specialists, pouring as much as KRW 17.78 billion into the scheme.
To place the roadmap into practice, they’ll form a taskforce, affiliated to Chungbuk Knowledge Industry Promotion Agency, who’ll be in charge of business networking between suppliers and demanders, rolling out a masterplan to develop semiconductor technology and form SW Development Committee and HR training.
