The city of Chungju signed a KRW 2.2 billion worth of investment contract with Evergreen Ltd., a retailer distributing agro products, on Mar. 31. The agro-retailer pledged to make a KRW 2.2 billion investment in Chungju city, newly establishing a facility that accommodates smart packaging lines and low-temperature storerooms to sort out fresh vegies.
Evergreen, founded in Haenam-gun, South Joella Province in 2018, agreed to move into the city this time to have better access to metropolitan areas with highly developed transportation system to be connected, as a way to kick start market expansion not only into Korea but to Asia and even North America. The retailer also unveiled an employment plan to hire 23 local residents once the construction project is over.
