According to Yonhap News,

North Chungcheong Province signed an MOU with Eumseong-gun and Korea Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) on Feb 4 over the establishment of the auto-parts inspection center used for hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles, the only and first of its kind service in Korea near the Seongbon Industry Cluster in Eumseong-gun. With the aim of starting the operation in the year 2023, the provincial authorities rolled out the construction plan to build up the facility, fully equipped with inspection and test systems, on a 20,000㎡ site inside the cluster. The cost for the construction is reported to total KRW 19.16 billion.

The center appears to lay strong foundations for vehicle inspection which ensures safety and industry standards for commercial fuel cell vehicles to be developed.

An official said “The new facility is anticipated to bring synergy effect on hydrogen economy associated with the multiple state-level projects to foster the industry: safety training center designed to raise public awareness of safe management of hydrogen energy, potable battery chargers, biogas facility to power / generate hydrogen energy and the formation of energy cluster authorized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.”
