Cheongju-si in Chugbuk has laid out a framework for hydrogen economy.

Under the city's vision of 'Cheongju to take off as an eco-friendly clean hydrogen city,' it has set the goals like the following : ▲ to increase output as much as 5.83% of the energy consumption ▲ to stabilize the foundation of hydrogen ecosystem specified complex ▲to build hydrogen charging network available in 15 minutes.

Also, as for specific works to implement by 2030, 18 projects were proposed.

And the city unveiled the results of the briefing session about action plans for the hydrogen economy vitalization.

The Blue Economy Strategy Institute CO. Ltd. that is in charge of the research picked three stretegies like the following : ▲ to improve energy power self-sufficiency ▲ to invigorate industries using hydrogen mobility and to establish hydrogen ecosystem specified complex ▲ to foster hydrogen-related business and to secure local's acceptance.

The short-term projects include cheongju-si bio-gas and fuel battery, establishment of liquified hydrogen charging station and more.

The mid-and long-term projects include fuel batteries for towns, establishment of blue hydrogen production facility and more.

The estimated cost of the business in total comes to KRW 2 trillion and 21.4 billion at maximum.
