According to Yonhap News,

As the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, Jeongwol Daeboreum, Korea's traditional festival of praying for a good harvest year, will resume for the first time in four years.

Chungbuk-do announced on Jan. 20 that the festival would be held across the region, including three places in Youngdong and two in Cheongju and Chungju,  starting Feb. 3.

The festivals have been canceled for the third straight year since 2020 due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Chungbuk Fire and Rescue HQs will be on special alert to prepare for fires caused by the games, burning of moon houses, and flying of wind lanterns before and after the festivals.

An official from the fire department said, "We will inspect the festival venues in advance and rev up our capability of on-site responding and dealing with contingency."
