According to Yonhap News,

On January 15th, Chungbuk-do announced that it has established and officially announced its industrial complex designation plan for this year.

According to relevant regulations, the authority for designating industrial complexes must review local demand for site locations and current land sales conditions, then prepare a plan for industrial complex designations by region. This plan must be discussed with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

The industrial complexes included in this year's designation plan are total 21 locations, covering an area of 17 million square meters (5.17 million pyeong).

By region, the plan includes seven locations in Eumseong, four in Chungju and Jincheon each, two in Cheongju and Jeungpyeong each, and one in Jecheon and Boeun each.

The province explained that three of the investment-promotion disadvantaged areas (Jecheon, Boeun, Okcheon, Yeongdong, Jeungpyeong, Goeisan, and Danyang) are incorporated in this plan, with plans to include the remaining regions later in the year.

The industrial complexes included in the plan will be finalized after consultation with relevant agencies and various impact assessments, followed by approval of the industrial complex plans by the designating authority.

A provincial official stated, "The development of industrial complexes is directly linked to investment attraction and balanced regional development," and added, "We will work to create rational industrial complexes to attract young people and generate job opportunities."
