Cheongju to support SMEs expansion in the overseas markets
On February 11, Cheongju-si announced that it will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to enter overseas markets.
The support has been prepared for small domestic businesses with excellent products and export-promising companies. The city plans to invest a total of KRW 600 million to support 90 companies.
The key initiatives include creating an export foundation by helping companies develop products and marketing content tailored to export target countries, strengthening export capabilities through digital platforms and online marketing, and fostering strategic export items by supporting participation in export fairs and exhibitions.
This year, the city plans to focus on promoting these initiatives primarily focusing on Southeast Asia.
The recruitment of participating companies will start at the end of this month, and inquiries can be made to the city’s business support department or Chungbuk Techno Park for more information.
A city official stated, "We will actively support small and medium-sized businesses to overcome domestic and international economic uncertainties and continue to grow."
Last year, the city supported 82 companies through its SMEs export support program, achieving export agreements worth a total of USD 151.1 billion.
The main target countries for expansion include China, the United States, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
