According to Yonhap News,

On May 4, Chungbuk-do announced that it will promote the establishment of a permanent exhibition and sales center for excellent products from local SMEs in Japan.

This move is intended to find new export opportunities for local SMEs due to deteriorating global trade environment caused by the tariffs policies of the Trump Administration.

In particular, with exports to the U.S. and China, the two major export markets of Chungbuk shrinking, Chungbuk-do stratigzes to target the Japanese market, which is geographically close and interested in the Korean cultural.

The exhibition and sales center, set to open in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo in the end of June, will operate until the end of the year, displaying about 100 excellent products from the province, including agricultural products and cosmetics. The center will also provide business consultations and some office functions.

Unlike typical antenna shops for general consumers, this center will target local distribution networks and buyers.

For that purpose, promotional activities will be carried out, introducing the excellence of provincial products and suggesting test marketing to large supermarkets, drugstores, grocery stores, and convenience stores in Japan.

The province will also hold a buyer invitation tasting event to stimulate interest from local buyers in the province’s products.

Additionally, online marketing will be conducted through the entry of local products into popular online platforms in Japan to complement the distribution network sales.
