On June 23, Okcheon-gun, Chungbuk-do announced that it has attracted investments worth KRW 149 billion from six companies under the 8th popularly elected government.

The county expected this would lead to about 320 job creation.

At Okcheon Techno Valley, Doowon Heavy Industries, a defense industry product manufacturer, will invest KRW 50 billion, and Kumkang Electric Industry, a manufacturer of motors and generators, will invest KRW 4 billion to establish production lines in the same industrial complex.

Doowon Heavy Industries plans to hire 220 production and management staff by 2029 in time with the completion of its Okcheon plant. The company has agreed with Okcheon County to hire 50% of the staff from the local community, and has already selected around 30 people since last year.

At Cheongsan Industrial Complex, HanChem, a petrochemical company, will invest KRW 50 billion, and Korea Petroleum Group will invest KRW 30 billion to set up operations. Additionally, DS Metal, a medical device manufacturer, is building its factory in a medical device industrial complex by investing KRW 5 billion.

Purb, a beverage manufacturer, purchased the former Okcheon Agricultural Cooperative processing plant in Dongi-myeon and is making an investment of over KRW 10 billion.

As a result, Okcheon-gun reported that two out of the three recently developed industrial and agricultural complexes, excluding Okcheon Techno Valley (with a 97% occupancy rate), have already been sold out.
