According to Yonhap News,
(Chungju = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Hyung-woo = Chungju City in North Chungcheong Province is accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) services in administrative practice to enhance work efficiency within the public sector.
Chungju City announced on the 28th that 358 employees utilized the AI legal service 'L-Box' last year to review 4,278 precedents and received answers to 12,525 inquiries. This averages to 356 precedents reviewed and 1,044 inquiries made per month.
L-Box is a service that promptly presents relevant precedents, laws, and interpretation examples based on inquiries and provides them in the form of reports.
The city explained that this service has reduced the time required for legal review and allowed for more rapid and consistent legal examination of complex administrative matters.
Civil servants are also taking the initiative to develop AI services.
Early this month, 'Jarvis,' a study group of Chungju City officials, developed an AI chatbot applicable to practical social welfare tasks.
This chatbot is designed to easily search and utilize relevant information in social welfare work, which involves numerous guidelines for each project and frequent legislative amendments. The chatbot is reported to have an answer accuracy rate of approximately 90 percent.
"AI provides the desired content immediately in report format, which is greatly helpful for our work," said Lee Jeong-in, Audit Officer. "We look forward to its active utilization in the future."
