According to Yonhap News,
(Cheongju = Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Chang-hae – Ahead of the construction of the Ochang Multipurpose Radiation Synchrotron in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province announced on the 20th that it is driving the 'Industrial Radiation Synchrotron Utilization Capability Reinforcement Project' to discover utilization demands and research agendas among regional enterprises, while boosting future utilization.
Targeting small, medium, and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the province interested in utilizing the radiation synchrotron, this project supports on-site technical diagnostics, expert consulting, and links to beamline experiments.
Participating enterprises will be matched with experts in the radiation synchrotron and relevant industrial sectors, providing the entire process of tailored, on-site corporate consulting free of charge.
The experts will diagnose the current status of the enterprise's technical development and the bottlenecks experienced during their research and development (R&D) processes. They will then propose radiation synchrotron analysis techniques and utilization plans suited to the company's business type and technical development stage.
Furthermore, following a qualification review, deep-dive consulting will be provided to two selected enterprises.
The deep-dive consulting will intensively advise on drafting project proposals for utilizing the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) beamline tailored to the enterprise's technical demands, concrete planning of experimental agendas, execution of actual beamline experiments, and strategies for linking to subsequent R&D.
In addition, the province will conduct basic theory education and study tours of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory beamline for enterprises encountering the radiation synchrotron for the first time.
For participation applications and detailed project information, please refer to the project announcement on the Chungbuk Institute of Science and Technology Innovation (CBIST) website (https://www.cbist.or.kr) or contact the CBIST Digital Industry Department at ☎ 043-210-0836.
