(OKCHEON = Yonhap News) — Okcheon County in North Chungcheong Province announced on August 6 that it has signed investment agreements with Jeil Industrial, a manufacturer of plastic assembly products, and Coconut Filter, a water purifier filter manufacturer, for the construction of new manufacturing plants.

Under the agreement, Jeil Industrial plans to invest USD 9.0 million (KRW 12 billion) to build a new plant with a total floor area of approximately 5,000 square meters in the Okcheon Techno Valley Industrial Complex, creating 40 new jobs.

Coconut Filter will invest USD 7.5 million (KRW 10 billion) to acquire a 5,000-square-meter site and building within the Okcheon Agricultural and Industrial Complex, undertaking remodeling and installing new production equipment.

The county expects that 50 new jobs will be generated once the plant becomes fully operational.

Hwang Gyu-chul, Governor of Okcheon County, stated, "We expect this investment to make a significant contribution to strengthening and revitalizing local industrial competitiveness," adding, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure the agreeing enterprises settle stably in our region."
