(Cheongju=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Chang-hae = North Chungcheong Province and Cheongju City signed a KRW 400 billion (USD 300.8 million) investment agreement on the 2nd with Simmtech Co., Ltd., which is pursuing the expansion of its production facilities.
Simmtech, a local enterprise in North Chungcheong Province specializing in the development and manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for semiconductors, plans to expand its manufacturing facilities in Oksan-myeon, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju City, by 2028 to respond to surging demand for high-value-added PCBs.
The projected employment generation resulting from the factory expansion is 100 personnel.
Simmtech agreed to make active efforts to ensure seamless project execution, utilize locally produced materials, and prioritize the hiring of local residents.
North Chungcheong Province and Cheongju City plan to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth progress of the expansion project.
