(Cheongju=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Chang-hae = Chungcheongbuk-do Province announced on the 8th that seven regional health functional food enterprises participating in a recent trade expo in Thailand signed export contracts worth USD 4.19 million (approx. KRW 5.57 billion).

Provincial enterprises—including Momenyong Bio Agricultural Corporation, Huons N, PorusGen, Youngjin Mulsan, Digital Nutrition, Curome Biosciences, and Cael—achieved this milestone while participating in 'Vitafoods Asia 2026' held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 2nd to 4th.

Chungcheongbuk-do Province and the Chungbuk Business Agency supported these companies in diversifying their export markets through the 'Natural Products Industry Brand Strengthening Support Project'.

The province plans to support follow-up negotiations so that the 118 export consultation meetings conducted during the exhibition lead to finalized contract executions.

Jang Woo-sung, Director-General of the Bio Food and Medicine Bureau of Chungcheongbuk-do Province, stated, "We will continuously push forward global marketing and export support initiatives so that regional natural-product health functional food enterprises can secure competitiveness in overseas markets and generate tangible export outcomes."

Meanwhile, 'Vitafoods Asia' has been held annually since 2011 as Southeast Asia's largest health functional food exhibition, with approximately 800 companies from 40 countries participating this year.
