According to Yonhap News,

North Chungcheong Province(Chungbuk) posted a trade surplus for 29 consecutive months.

According to the Chungju Customs, Chungbuk posted USD 380 million in trade surplus with USD 1.05 billion in exports and USD 748 billion in imports.

Trade surpluses have continued since January 2009.

On the back of booming exports, accumulated trade surplus increased 20.8％ year-on-year from USD 1.45 billion to USD 1.74 billion.

An official from the Chungju Customs said "The province is seeing trade surplus continue thanks to increasing exports. It recorded surpluses in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and China in May, and deficits in EU, Japan and the US."
