Cheongju's Vice Mayor Gwak Im-geun signed a friendly cooperation agreement with Wuxi's Vice Mayor Pang Wei Wednesday at a hotel in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China.
Cheongju sent a delegation led by Vice Mayor Gwak to encourage employees of Korean companies including SK Hynix making a foray into Wuxi and promote the 2013 Cheongju International Craft Biennale and Osong Cosmetics and Beauty Expo.
The agreement with Wuxi brings to two the number of Chinese cities establishing a friendly relationship with Cheongju. It is also a sister city to China's Wuhan.
"The agreement elevated our relationship with Wuxi from an exchange city to a friendship city, which will further facilitate personnel and economic exchanges between the two cities," said a Cheongju official.
