According to Yonhap News,

SKC Ltd., a South Korean industrial film maker, said Wednesday it has completed two plants for PET film and PET chips in the central part of the country.

The PET film plant has an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons, with the PET chip plant capable of producing 200,000 tons per year, the company said.

PET chips are used as raw materials for PET film, which is used to make liquefied crystal dispays and drink bottles.

The plants were built in Jincheon, a city some 90 kilometers south of Seoul, where SKC operates its production lines for ethylene vinyl-polymer acetate used as raw material for making solar cells.

SKC is also building an industrial film plant in Jiangsu Province, China, which is slated to be completed next year, the company said.
