According to the International Federation of Rowing Associations (FISA), preparations for the 2013 World Rowing Championships, to be held in Chungju, are going smoothly.

“The organizing committee has done a great job preparing the championships, and their knowledge and professional level have grown remarkably. We have no doubt that the event will succeed,” said Svetla Otzetova, Commission Member of FISA, at the press conference. “We are also confident that the event will become one of the world’s most loved festivals combining culture, tourism, and sports. We will do our utmost to draw more participation from the member countries,” she added.

A FISA delegation began a site inspection on April 9. It thoroughly checked the present conditions of the site, ranging from the construction status of buildings to food and transportation for sports teams.

The 2013 World Rowing Championships will be held in Chungju, Korea, from August 25 to September 1. 2,300 people from 80 countries are expected to participate and turn it into the largest event held in FISA history.
