Visitors to Osong Beauty Expo Exceeds One Million


Number of visitors to the Cosmetics & Beauty Expo Osong, Korea 2013 exceeded one million on Thursday, just 21 days after its opening on May 3. It was three days earlier than expected.

Governor of North Chungcheong Province Lee Si-jong, Chung Seung, Minister of Food and Drug Safety, Mayor of Chungju Han Beum-duk and Lee Jong-yoon, Mayor of Cheongwon country delivered flowers and souvenirs to the millionth visitor.

Following 40,000 visitors on the first day, it drew 61,000 and 84,000 people on 4th and 5th, respectively. In just ten days, the number reached 500 thousand. Organizing committee of the Expo expects to see 1.10 million visitors by 26th.

Nearly 3,500 buyers, including two thousand buyers from overseas, visited to make about 23,000 contracts with export contracts of USD around 13.60 million among those. The Pavilions promoted the excellence of Korean cosmetics and beauty industry and opened the door to the overseas market.

Cosmetic products amounted to KRW 1.65 billion was also sold at the Expo. An official of the organizing committee noted the Expo demonstrated the potential of Korean cosmetics and beauty industry. He added fascinating foreign buyers with Korean Beauty industry was the largest achievement.
