Business Center in Cheongju to be Built

The Management Corporation for Cheongju Industrial Complex announced yesterday that construction of a business center will begin next month to be completed in June 2014 with an investment of KRW 12.5 billion.

The building will have meeting rooms, medical facilities, a pharmacy, convenience stores, exhibition halls and cafes.

Buildings including government offices, stores and dormitories will be demolished before the construction gets underway.

As the Management Corporation for Cheongju Industrial Complex, established and expanded between 1969 and 1989, is decrepit and its infrastructure is insufficient for business activities.

An official noted that the business center is essential to build competitiveness of the regional industry, adding that a support system for companies and employees in the Cheongju Industrial Complex will be established.

As of the end of December, 365 companies moved into the complex, its volume of manufacture reached KRW 12.7156 trillion.

Total exports stands at USD 5.86808 billion, which takes 47.7 percent of North Chungcheong Province’s total exports.
