(CHEONGJU = Newsis) Chungcheongbuk-do announced on January 16 that it will achieve four percent of economic growth and push ahead seven policy goals and 23 relevant strategies.

“The government expects the country’s economic growth rate of 3.9 percent this year and aimes to vitalize the economy and improve the livelihood of the nation. Chungbuk will pursue the same goal,” said an official of Chungbuk.

The province aims to develop infrastructure to achieve employment rate of 70 percent, achieve the investment of KRW 5.5 trillion, surpass KRW 16 billion in exports, supply solar energy system facilities with the capacity of 135MW, increase the supply rate of city gas to 60 percent, improve the livelihood of its residents and realize creative economy.

To achieve its goal, the province also set up detailed strategies, including operating of the target closure system, resolving mismatch between the job seekers and recruiters, expanding the support for small and medium-sized enterprises and etc.

It also plans to self-supply solar energy system, support loan for construction of solar power plants, expand the city gas pipelines, enhance the competitiveness of its traditional markets, improve the gas lines for low-income households, support the ventures and SMEs to enter the global market, and etc.

Last year, Chungbuk ranked the first in export growth, first in the increase in employment rate, third in GDP growth rate.
