(CHUNGJU=NEWSIS) According to the local governments’ investment promotion service satisfaction index conducted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) and the Korea Industrial Complex Corp. on December 10, Chungju City has been named as the excellent local government for investment promotion.

The local governments’ investment promotion service satisfaction index has been established based on 160 manufacturing companies that have recently built plants in lower level local governments.

Chungju, ranked ninth in the index, increased its standing as a business-friendly city.

MOTIE will promote the brands of excellent cities and counties around the country and increase the rate of subsidies for investment promotion in regions by 5 percent for a year.

Therefore, Chungju will receive 50 percent of subsidies from its initial 45 percent.

Chungju is focusing on attracting blue chip companies that have high employment effect with its infrastructure, abundant water, natural resources and tailored corporate support.
