Cheongju City Attracted KRW 2 Tr. of Investment Over the Year

(CHEONGJU=NEWSIS) Cheongju City announced June 10 that it has attracted KRW 2.217 trillion over the last year.

To date, around 270 companies have agreed to invest in regional industrial complexes in Cheongju, which will create 6,840 new jobs.

Thirteen companies including LG Household & Health Care, Celltrion, Daewoong Pharmaceutical and Taekang have invested KRW 1.7257 trillion in the Cheongju Technopolis.

Four companies Stemco, Wonik Materials and Beautee Collagen have agreed to invest KRW 140 billion in the Ochang Scientific Industrial Complex.

Around 253 companies are planning or in the middle of building plants in the areas of Cheongju including the Oksan industrial complex.

"It is an outstanding achievement considering the deregulation of the metropolitan area and the economic recession. The advantages of Cheongju are its easy accessibility and abundant human resources,” said a city official.
