(CHEONGJU=NEWSIS) Cheongju City announced July 9 that the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) has selected 11 old industrial complexes around the country including the Cheongju Industrial Complex to renovate them into innovative industrial complexes.

The innovation project will be from 2015 to 2020. Four plants at the complex will be relocated or demolished and a healing theme park for workers, houses and industrial history-themed road will be established at the site.

Public facilities including parking lots and cultural and leisure spaces will be built for workers and residents and innovation support center, daycare center and a comprehensive welfare center will be established to meet the welfare of the workers.
