(CHEONGJU=Yonhap News) Cheongju City announced August 5 that it will designate the Osong station area (713,564㎡) as a city development zone on August 7 in accordance with the vote by the city planning commission.

The Osong Station Area has been designated by North Chungcheong Province in 2011 as a city development zone but no private project developer came forward to develop the area.

The area has been redesignated as the city development zone as the land owners promoted the development project through land transaction.

The city development project promotion committee aims to complete the project by the end of 2018 and the Osong Station area will accommodate 3252 public houses. The development cost is KRW 179 billion.
