(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon province secured 2019 national budget of KRW 4 billion to create jobs customized for regional industry.

It is the result of winning a project competition, opened by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), in 2 regional innovation projects and 24 general projects.

This project that supports job creation customized for regional industry is: local governments compose a consortium with employment-related non-profit enterprise and organizations to identify and suggest job creation projects fitting for regional characteristics, then reviewed and selected by MOEL who support employment insurance fund.

The province suggested,as a regional innovation project, a win-win cooperation projects for SMEs overcome 3D with a focus on carrying SMEs over market failure and establishing an ecosystem encouraging the growth of enterprises.

Also, its project proposal for the restart job creation for new middle-age and the youth which is a training and education project in response to an increase in net outflow of the youth and net inflow of the middle-aged was selected.

24 general projects are participated by 23 implementing organizations to nurture public transportation service staff, customized consulting for those aspiring to open or re-try business, inducing young job-seekers to settle in the region through work experience and training, among others.

A provincial government official said, "the projects will contribute to job creation by enterprises with customized consulting for SMEs in the province and organizational diagnosis provided, helping them to secure technology and production competitive edge".
