According to Yonhap News,

(WONJU=Yonhap News) The opening ceremony of the Seventh Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) trade and investment fair takes place in Wonju, on Oct. 16, 2019 with VIPs and over 2,000 honored guests who attended to celebrate the event. About 30 delegates from three neighboring countries- China, Russia and Japan- and a hundred of representatives from businesses and academia also joined the fair, which aims to develop areas near the Tumen River between China and North Korea.

The event lasts for 4 days from Oct 17 with the start of the opening ceremony under the slogan of 'Peace and prosperity, the way for cooperation and development in the coming golden era for North East'.

It appears that the expo will have over 100 booths and stands to attract a large number of visitors, buyers and delegates home and abroad. One of main events, 'GTI economic cooperation forum' on 17th will take place to have deep conversations and share insights for how to get ready for the new era of Korea-China-Russia trading bloc and for the way to tighten the economic cooperation in North East Asia.

On 18th, there will be a gathering for female CEOs in Asia, and a special session for Chinese living in Korea on 20th.

The governor of Gangwon Province says "We've long focused on the value and the unlimited potential found in Northeast Asia, especially in an economic bloc that encompasses China- Russia- Korea, both the North and the South. The belief that GTI will soon become the center of the world economy actually brought us here, making a success story of the fair."
