According to Yonhap News,

Roughly 45 tons (the largest amount ever) of locally grown fresh asparagus are set to be shipped to Japan. Gangwon Agricultural Research and Extension Services signed a business contract to further boost export of local foods to Japan on Mar. 10, The attendees- local farmers and traders who reached the deal- agreed to sell 45 tons of asparagus, produced in Gangwon Province, to Japan. That’s the largest single export item ever shipped to Japan.

The harvest grown in Chuncheon, Hwacheon and Yanggu is scheduled to be sent to Japan from Apr. 5 until the end of May and the sales revenue for local farmers is predicted to reach KRW 320 million in total.

The shipment of Gangwon asparagus to Japan has been on the rise gradually from 3 tons to 25.6 tons over the last five years from 2015 to 2019. Gangwon asparagus has gained favorable feedback particularly in its size and freshness from markets in Japan, which now opens the door to Taiwan, Hong Kong and even Singapore.
