According to Yonhap News,

Chuncheon City and Gangwon Information & Multimedia Corporation held a completion ceremony for Gangwon Innovative Development Center.

The completion ceremony attracted Gangwon Governor Choi Mun-sun, former Prime Minister Han Seung-su, Lawmaker Kim Jin-tae, Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Gwak Yeong-jin, Chuncheon Mayor Lee Gwang-jun and Chuncheon citizens.

The innovative development center has drawn attraction from citizens and tourists due to its unique architectural style in harmony with Euiam Lake.

About 26.3 billion won was injected into establishing the unique building whose shape looks different depending on the viewing position and angle.

Looking down from the sky, the building looks like a question mark, symbolizing creativity. Looking directly from the lake, it looks like a boat or ship floating on the lake.

The whole building is connected with gentle stairs from the ground to the observatory, which allows visitors to see the whole surface of Euiam Lake at a sight.

About 30 companies in the cultural industry have already moved in the building and additional 10 are scheduled to be relocated to the building.

The observatory will be a major tourist attraction in Chuncheon, making possible for people to visit the place.

"The Gangwon Innovative Development Center will emerge as Chuncheon's symbolic building due to its location adjacent to Euiam Lake and its unique architectural style. Based on the establishment, we will do our best to create competitive cultural products," said a representative of Gangwon Information & Multimedia Corporation.
