Gangwon Metrological Administrative Office (MAO) and Gangwon Province organized a forum on climate change and regional economy.

The forum attracted about 100 participants including the Director of Gangwon MAO Jo Seok-jun, Gangwon Governor Choi Mun-sun and others from the industrial, academic and research fields under the theme of "Climate Change and Tourism and Leisure Industry."

The forum is designed to discuss how to prevent Gangwon's major industry of tourism and leisure from the effect of climate change.

Professor of Gangreung-Wonju National University Jeong Il-ung, professor of Kangwon National University Song Un-gang and Director of Seoul National University of Science and Technology Choi Seok-ho made presentations about "How to Utilize Climate Information to Support Gangwon's Tourism Industry," "Climate Change and Future of Gangwon's Tourism and Leisure Industry," and "Climate Change and Changing Paradigm of Tourism Industry," respectively.

After the presentations, professor of Kangwon National University Lee Jeong-beom moderated a discussion on how to adapt to climate change and utilize climate information in the tourism and leisure industry with eight experts attending as panel members.
