U.S. President Barack Obama will send a delegation to the opening ceremony of the 10th Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, later this week, the White House announced Monday.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will lead the delegation to the ceremony, which opens Tuesday, it added.

The group includes Sung Kim, ambassador to Seoul, Judith E. Heumann, special adviser for international disability rights at the Department of State, and Julie Petty, a member of the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

The upcoming games, to last through Feb. 5, are expected to draw nearly 3,300 athletes from 112 countries. PyeongChang is also the site of the 2018 Winter Olympics.
