A new momentum for Alpensia and free economic zone seems to be on the way.

Governor of Gangwon Province Choi Moon-soon visited The Korean Residents Union in Japan (Mindan) on 10th and to meet Oh Gong-tae, head of Mindan to request their participation in GTI International Trade & Investment EXPO and investment for Alpensia and free economic zone.

Head of The Korean Resident Union Oh agreed to participate in GTI EXPO and proposed to learn knowhow of Winter Olympics through collaboration between Gangwon Province and Nagano Prefecture which hosted the 13th Winter Olympics in 1998.

Governor Choi also visited Chairman of Maruhan Group Han Chang-woo who is leading The World Federation of Korea Association of Commerce to discuss how to hold a successful GTI EXPO. Chairman Han promised to cooperate for successful proceeding with the support from the Association.

Secretary General Yang Chang-young stated that the World Federation of Korea Association of Commerce will put forth a multilateral effort to aid Gangwon Province which was underdeveloped relative to other provinces in Korea as Chairman Han has taken the office of Chairman for the organizing committee of the EXPO.

GTI EXPO which will be held from June 9th to June 12th for the first time in North East Asia will have 100 enterprise from other cities and provinces and 60 companies from overseas as to participate and 3,700 buyers from Korea.
