GTI EXPO Sees 347 Business Consultations

The GTI International Trade & Investment EXPO 2013 (GTI EXPO), which is held for the first time in Northeast Asia, saw continuous business consultations with Korean and foreign buyers.

At the GTI EXPO, which opened on last Sunday in Gangneung, 347 business consultations with 155 companies amounted to USD 10.06 million as of the second day.

Big Ocean Resources Limited, a member of the World Federation of Korea Association of Commerce, delivered a letter of intent to Governor of Gangwon Province Choi Moon-soon last Sunday to invest USD 50 million in Wonju.

The 6th GTI Tourism Board Meeting was also held in Pyeongchang last Sunday morning with 25 representatives from member countries including Korea, China, Russia and Mongolia. In the afternoon, Han Chang-woo, the head of the organizing committee gave a special lecture under the theme of eyes to the world and heart to the home country.

On the third day, individual export consultations between participants and buyers continued including one-on-one consultations between 14 Japanese companies and 56 Korean businesses to forecast a successful EXPO.

The World Federation of Korea Association of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding to invest in Alpensia Resort, and will hold the World Korean Business Convention during when the GTI EXPO is held in Gangwon Province every year.

Around 520 companies and 3,700 buyers from about ten countries including Korea, China, Russia and Mongolia participated in the GTI EXPO which was held under the theme of The New Northeast Asia – Cooperation, Development and Mutual Prosperity from June 9 to June 12.
