Chuncheon city announced Tuesday that construction of the Eastern Chuncheon Industrial Complex began last month.

Biotechnology and medical companies are planned to move into the industrial complex on a 540,000 m2 site.

The Chuncheon City Urban Corporation and private companies made an investment of KRW 56 billion in the project.

With promotional activities, 16 companies expressed their intention to invest. The industrial complex is planned to be completed in the next year and construction of manufacturing facilities will begin, as requested size of the sites exceeds the size of total sites on sale.

Chuncheon city also plans to widen the road between national route No.5 and the industrial complex as a part of a project to support industrial complex’s infrastructure.
