According to Gangwon Province, a medical care cooperation team which consists of 23 medical staff, Hallym University medical tourism specialization team, a Russian research institute and university representatives will hold a medical industry information session in Russia.

The information session aims to develop cooperative measures in the field of medicine with Russia and penetrate new markets for Gangwon Province’s medical industry. It is also significant that the session will introduce the province’s medical industry as well as promote advanced medical equipment and medical technology.

Discussion on current status of medical cooperation projects between local governments will take place in the sessions to exchange views on medical development and facilitation.

Participants will also look over Russia’s local medical equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and medical agencies to analyze circumstances of Russian medical market. It is to examine the possibility of expanding into the Russian market and facilitate exchanges between universities.

Medical seminars will also be held to enhance understanding of treatment techniques and are expected to attract medical tourists to Gangwon.

A team insider noted that it will promote Gangwon Province’s excellent medical equipment and medical technology overseas to lay the foundation for global expansion, as well as facilitate cooperative discussions in the field of medicine to penetrate new markets.
