(HWACHEON=Yonhap News) Behind the success of the 2015 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival under way in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, are staff members working diligently, fulfilling their daily duties. They are the main contributors to transforming the event to a global festival and being named South Korea's most representative festival for two years in a row.

There are also staff members who are responsible for the daily monitoring of facilities, people who make sure the entire site of the festival is clean, and guides who are ready to help with necessary information.

County officials also note that because the festival is held every January, public workers end up spending their new year holidays planning the event. These workers are actively involved in running the festival from start to end, and the majority of them help operate various programs throughout the week.

The festival, which opened on Jan. 10, has drawn nearly 1.3 million visitors as of Wednesday.
