According to Yonhap News,

A city-led construction project to form a community industry cluster, named “S.Chuncheon Business Complex’, located near Namsan-myeon in the city of Chuncheon, is getting closer to its final stage.

Gross site area of the complex is estimated to be approximately 267,818㎡ and the cost for the project totals KRW 51.1 billion. Nearly 96 percent of the procedures have completed. The project appears to come to an end as early as the end of July this year.

The complex is planned to develop into a special zone, accommodating bio-healthcare businesses, particularly those involved in COVID-19 vaccines or treatment medicine development. The current occupancy rate of the cluster is 61.5 percent. Right before the grand opening, a dozen more are planning to be new tenants, moving into the zone.

Aside from the site construction, another project to build a wastewater treatment plant, capable of removing as much as 325tons of pollutants per day, is set to put an end in August.

Geographical proximity to a road junction, S.Chuncheon Interchange and the agglomeration of economy, helping businesses form alliance and networks, is highly anticipated to enable the new bio-healthcare town to promote business activities inched upwards, bringing vigor into the community economy.

Meanwhile, the percentage of occupied spaces in E.Chuncheon Industry Cluster is now 66 percent, but the number is soon likely to reach near 100, a city official said.
